Our lessons are conducted one-on-one, allowing us to provide students with a personalized learning experience. The one-on-one lessons aim to focus on the student's needs and facilitate more effective communication.
Are the lessons live?
Our lessons are conducted live. This means that students can interact with their English tutors in real-time. Live lessons allow students to ask questions instantly, enable tutors to adapt the lesson content on the spot, and encourage active participation from students during the lessons.
What is the duration of the lessons?
Our lessons are offered in two different duration options: 25 minutes and 50 minutes. These options allow students to determine the lesson duration according to their needs and preferences. Some students prefer shorter and more intensive lessons, while others may prefer to focus on longer sessions. Regardless of the chosen duration, our tutors are ready to provide you with an effective learning experience throughout the lesson.
What program should be installed on my computer to join in the lesson?
In lessons on Flalingo, the Zoom program is used. However, the process of joining the lesson is entirely conducted through the Flalingo platform, and you don't need to take any separate actions in Zoom. It is sufficient to have the Zoom program installed on your computer. If the Zoom program is not already installed on your computer, you can download it by using the following link. https://zoom.us/download
How many hours in advance can I make a lesson reservation?
In Flalingo, lessons can be reserved a minimum of 8 hours in advance. This time frame is set to ensure that tutors and students have enough time to prepare for the lesson and have a more productive learning experience. Our tutors carefully prepare for each lesson. They organize materials, review content, and create lesson plans tailored to the students' needs. This preparation process enables tutors to provide high-quality education to students. However, if users want to have a lesson earlier, they can use the "Request Lesson" feature. With this feature, reservation requests can be accepted up to 3 hours before the lesson time. This allows students to have the opportunity to have a lesson before the specified hours.
How can I make a lesson reservation?
The lesson reservation process is done through the student panel. After logging in with your username and password, you will be directed to your personalized student page. At the top of this page, you will find the options "Search by tutor" and "Search by date," where you can schedule a lesson with a tutor of your choice at your preferred time. The first method is to click on the "Search by date" button and select a suitable time for yourself. This way, you have the opportunity to choose from tutors who are available at that specific time. The second method is to click on the "Search by tutor" button and review the profiles of tutors listed there. You can select the tutor you want to take lessons with and make a reservation by choosing a suitable time from their calendar. In addition to these options, if you cannot find a suitable time for a lesson with your desired tutor, you can use the "Make a request" feature. This feature allows you to send a reservation request to the tutor when there is no available time in their calendar.
What can I do if I can not find a suitable reservation for myself?
If the tutor is unavailable at the desired time for the student to take a lesson, the student can request a reservation from the tutor. To do this, you need to click on the "Lessons requests" button on the reservation page or on the messaging screen and fill in the relevant sections. Reservation requests can be made at least 3 hours in advance. However, a reservation request does not guarantee the availability of the lesson. The tutor will respond to the reservation request at least 30 minutes before the requested lesson time. In cases where the request is not approved, reservation requests are considered rejected. The result of the reservation requests is communicated to the student via email. Unapproved lesson requests do not deduct from the student's lesson credits. Communication and agreement between the student and the tutor are of great importance during the reservation request process. Students can use the messaging module in the student panel to communicate with tutors and determine suitable times. Through this module, students can communicate with tutors to inquire about available hours and make reservation requests. This method is recommended as the best way for students to plan their lessons using the reservation request feature.
If I cancel my reservation, will I lose my lesson credit?
You can cancel your reservation on Flalingo until 8 hours before the lesson time and get your lesson credit back. Follow these steps to cancel your reservation: 1. Log in to your account. 2. Click on the "Upcoming Lessons" button. This list will display all your reserved lessons. 3. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the lesson you want to cancel and select "Cancel." Note: If there are less than 8 hours remaining until the lesson starts, you cannot directly cancel the lesson. However, you can send a cancellation request to the tutor. Sending a cancellation request does not guarantee that the reservation will be canceled. When the tutor approves the request, the lesson will be canceled. Tutors are not obligated to accept cancellation requests.
How can I join the lesson?
To join the lesson, you can follow the steps below: 1- Log in to your student panel. 2- Click on the "Upcoming Lessons" button. This section will display all your future reservations. 3- Click the "Join" button on the reservation card for the lesson you want to attend. This button becomes active 5 minutes before the lesson. Note: When you click the "Join" button, a new tab will open with the Zoom screen, and if you enter before the tutor, you will be placed in the waiting room. Please wait without taking any action at this stage. You will automatically be connected to the lesson when the tutor joins.
The tutor did not join the lesson. What should I do?
If the tutor has not joined the lesson after two minutes of the lesson start time, you will see a "Dispute Now" alert on your reservation card. By clicking on this alert, you will send a notification to the Flalingo support team and they will initiate contact with the tutor. The support team will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and provide you with the necessary assistance. If the problem is not resolved, an additional lesson credit will be allocated to you.
I experienced a technical problem during the lesson. What should I do?
If you encounter a technical problem during the lesson, you can follow the steps below: 1- Click on the "Dispute" button on your reservation card to immediately report the issue to the Flalingo support team. 2- The support team will assist you in resolving the problem and guide you through the necessary steps to fix the technical issue. If the problem cannot be resolved or continuing the lesson is not possible, an additional tutoring session will be allocated to you. Additionally, at the end of the lesson, when you log in to Flalingo again, you will see a pop-up window. This window will contain the question, "Did your last lesson go smoothly?" If you experienced a technical problem during the lesson, select "No" and choose the relevant technical issue from the options provided. By doing so, you will raise an objection in the system. The Flalingo support team will review your issue and provide you with a solution. You can track the outcome of your objections by accessing the "Objections" tab in your student panel.
If the tutor ends the lesson early, what should I do?
If the tutor ends the lesson earlier than scheduled, you can follow the steps below: Click on the "Dispute" button on your reservation card to immediately report the issue to the Flalingo support team. The support team will contact the tutor and ensure the completion of your lesson. If the issue cannot be resolved or continuing the lesson is not possible, an additional lesson credit will be provided to you. Additionally, when you log in to Flalingo again at the end of the lesson, you will see a pop-up window. In this window, you should select "No" for the question "Did your last lesson go smoothly?" and indicate that the tutor ended the lesson early from the options provided. By doing so, you will raise an objection to the system. The Flalingo support team will review your concern and provide you with a solution. You can check the outcome of your objections by following the "Objections" tab in your student panel.
Where can I access the results of my lesson disputes?
You can view all of your lesson objections in the "Dispute" tab of the student panel. Accepted objections are shown in green, while rejected objections are displayed in red. To see the reason for a rejected objection, you can click on the "Reason" button. This way, you can find out why your objection was rejected.
How is the progress of the lesson topics? Are there any books being followed in the lessons?
The lesson topics in Flalingo are personalized according to the student's needs and goals. Oxford University Press's specially designed materials for online education are used in the lessons. Students can access and use these materials if they wish. However, following a textbook is not mandatory. There are specially designed lessons to provide students with a comfortable environment for speaking practice. This way, students can shape the progress of the lessons according to their own goals and preferences. Do you follow a book in the lessons?
Your level and demands are important to us first. We don't use books in the first lessons and we determine your level. Then we determine the book we will use according to your level. But we also have students who just want to practice speaking. We organize speech activities with hundreds of speaking topics in a planned manner with these students.
May I cancel my reservation?
Reservations can be canceled up to 8 hours before the lesson. To cancel a reservation: Log in to your account and click the "Upcoming Lessons" button. Here you will see a list of all the classes you have booked. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner next to the lesson you want to cancel and click "cancel".
How can I join the lesson?
1) Login your account 2) Open your own page by clicking the dashboard button in the upper right corner of the screen 3) You can search new lesson by date or by tutor. 4) Choose the right tutor or time for you 5) When your reservation time comes, just open the "upcoming lessons" tab and click the "join" button
What will I talk about with the tutors?
We have lots of content for you to talk about with your tutor. We have articles, practice materials, vocabulary lists for various occupations such as engineering, marketing and sales, software development. We constantly add new materials, so you always have good topics to talk about when practicing.
I can't enter the lesson. Why?
In our system, 150 lessons are provided from about 10 countries every day. Since we have such different experiences every day, we can easily say that the probability of connection problems originating from us is 1%. On the other hand, there are many different reasons why you can't connect to the lesson: 1) Be sure that you have a good internet connection. 2) Wifi connections sometimes don't work well. Considering this situation, turn off wifi and use your mobile internet. (Especially if you live in: UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia or Syria it would be better to use your mobile internet instead of wifi) 3) If you use Windows laptop or Android phones, please use the Google Chrome browser. 4) If you use MAC (Apple) or iPhone and Ipad, please use the Safari browser. 5) If you have a problem with connection please refresh your page. 6) Be sure to allow your camera and microphone. Because if you don't allow, you can never connect from the phone or the computer.
